Spud Gun
As an employee I attended a summer picnic on the Garvey grounds in Blue Anchor. Mark was there hosting, telling jokes, being the exuberant man he was. One of his tricks that day was a potato gun he had assembled from PVC tubing, cement, and a piezo electric grill igniter. He'd load a potato, shove it down the barrel, squirt some hair-spray into the chamber, close it up, hit the trigger, and BLAAAAMMMM!!!! He'd launch a potato 250 yards straight up and let hapless picnicgoers attempt to catch them with a baseball mit as they came down.
I loved it! I still love it! Not too long ago I decided to build my own spud gun. My Dad loves it! My cousin loves it! My uncle loves it! We have a ball blasting potatos all over the place.
Mark lives for me every day, in work and in play.

Thanks for posting that Mike. I remember specfically my Dad calling you out of the blue just a few weeks before he passed away about an equation for figuring out the number of round products in a given area. He valued your knowledge and experience greatly.
And it still amazes me how far that potato gun could shoot.
We still have that spud gun! One day we'll have to plan a "Tater Shoot".
You said, "Mark lives for me every day, in work and in play." That was nice Mike. I know how you feel.
We too own a spud gun, although we haven't used it in years!! First time we saw one was at a Garvey weekend, Rick went home and made one right away!! We'll have to dust it off, a "Tater Shoot" sounds like fun!!
