Deeeeelicious(more about corn)
I have a few memories of husking corn at the Garvey home when we lived in NJ.
And I remember when Uncle Mark was trying to perfect his corn fritter recipe and I think he was trying to get it just the way his Mom used to make it. I loved his corn fritters and I have even made them a few times. They're great.
But probably my favorite memory of corn and Uncle Mark is from last summer. We were at Uncle Mark and Aunt Rita's house the weekend of Sarah's dance recital and graduation party and had corn one of the last nights we were there. Uncle Mark was at the table in the kitchen sitting across from Brendan(at the time my son Brendan was 2) and was showing him how to eat corn on the cob. He said, "see Brendan, you have to go like this" and he showed him how to take a bite. And then he said, "now you have to say deeeeelicious"
So of course Brendan did. They went back and forth a few times taking bites of corn and saying deeeeelicious. And you can bet everytime we eat corn on the cob we say it.... "Deeeeelicious"

I remember that! It was too cute. We have a picture from that day somewhere, I will have to dig it up and post it.
I was wondering how long it was going to take for the corn stories to start popping up. I too have fond memories of husking corn at the Garveys'. Mmm...and the corn fritters. It was not a heartbreak eating his attempts on the way to perfection, let me tell ya.
