Our Visit
A few years back, Ed and I decided it would be a great idea to rent a motor home and take a trip with the 3 little boys, Bobby, Joey & Jeremy.
So we packed up this motor home and planned on driving up through Michigan from Illinois, drive through Canada, see Niagara Falls, go to New York, then drive down through New Jersey to visit Mark and Rita, go on to Washington D.C. then back home to Illinois. This is all fine and good but we only had a week.
After a couple days of motor home adventures we arrived at Mark and Rita’s. She greeted us at the door with bags of Halloween candy for the boys and Mark insisted we have cheese steaks. The boys immediately fell in love with New Jersey…not only do you get great bags of candy, you get the best sandwiches EVER!!!! Uncle Mark and Aunt Rita, by then, were the undisputed champions of our vacation.
The next morning Uncle Mark took the boys on their first ever airplane ride. I remember how excited the boys were to tell me about how cool Uncle Mark was flying that plane and how much fun they had. How they flew over the river and Atlantic City. The funny things Uncle Mark did while they were in the air. There’s something so fun about seeing little kids excited about something and trying to put into words their excitement. It was a day to remember for the boys. It was a wonderful visit for Ed and me.
Now mind you, we were only planning on staying a night. We never made it to Washington, D.C.

I had the pleasure of flying with Uncle Mark once when we were there for Thanksgiving one year. By far the best flight I've ever taken.
Oh, and in the 5 years I lived in NJ, I never made it to DC either, Theresa.
