Dad's Songs
Music was always a huge part of Dad's life whether it was playing guitar around the camp fire or always trying to introduce you to some obscure artist he discovered. Here are four songs my Dad recorded on a mini disc recorder.
Mark Garvey - Fool Such as I
Mark Garvey - I'm Coming Home
Mark Garvey - The Oldest Baby in the World
Mark Garvey - Plastic Girl

Also, there were a few problems with the site due to a server change. New stories can now be posted again. Thanks.
I remember the first Christmas that Mark and Rita spent in New Jersey after they moved from Illinois. I believe the year was 1980. I flew in very early on Christmas morning, so I could see the boys open their gifts from Santa. We had a great time, that Christmas Day with all of typical Christmas fare, but that evening Mark told all of us he had a surprise for the next day. We were very excited to see what the surprise was. The next day arrived, and Mark told us to dress warm. We did as we were told, and off we went into the woods for a picnic. New Jersey that year got 2 inches of snow for Christmas, and Mark said he always wanted to go on a picnic in the snow. Well it was one of the most fun picnics I ever went on. Mark could even make a picnic in the snow, fun. With a lot of help from Rita of course, who brought all of the food.
I saw Stop-Loss last night. Here I was thinking about Jeremy fighting in Iraq and suddenly I start thinking about Uncle Mark. I thought it was strang until I realized I was humming along to the music in the backgroung of the scene: I'm Coming Home. It made me feel like Uncle Mark is watching over Jeremy.
I listened to these again today. I miss you!
Just listened again to these great recordings. I loved hearing your voice again Mark. I miss you.
